What goes on the car is a liquid, not a film, and it is not window tint. It is rated for clear-coated paint along with headlights, taillights, and clear-coated wheel faces, so the surfaces that take the worst of that drive are all covered, not just the hood. We correct the paint first, then bond the coating while the finish is at its best, and it cures into a hard base under an ultra-hydrophobic top layer. Your car gets a multi-stage wash, a full decontamination, then a one-step correction that pulls out swirls, wash marring, and oxidation, and only then does anything get applied. It cures in two stages, a hard chemically resistant base beneath a water-repelling top layer, which is what keeps that fresh correction sealed in instead of left exposed to the next wash.
From there the finish resists what actually ruins paint up here: UV fade, chemical and stain damage, and the light marring a wash mitt leaves behind. The surface stays slick enough that water will not lie flat on it, so blowing dust and mineral spotting bead up and run off, and washing a Desert Mountain daily driver is a rinse rather than an afternoon.

Is a ceramic coating the same as ceramic window tint? +
No, and they are not interchangeable. A coating is a liquid that bonds to your clear-coated paint and hardens into a protective shell over the finish. Tint is a film we fit to the inside of your glass to cut heat and UV in the cabin. One protects what you look at, the other protects what you sit in, and most Desert Mountain owners who care about a car end up booking both.
How much does a ceramic coating cost at Desert Mountain? +
The exterior package starts at $1,500 plus tax. That covers the multi-stage wash, a full decontamination, a one-step paint correction, and the coating itself. Interior detailing is a paid add-on if you want it. A garaged collector needs less correction than a daily driver run down the mountain, so we confirm the final number once we have seen the paint.
Does a coating actually help with the dust and hard water up here? +
That is where it earns its keep. Cured, the surface is ultra-hydrophobic, measured at a 113-degree water contact angle, so the fine grit blowing off the high desert and the mineral-heavy water that spots a dark finish by mid-morning let go with a rinse instead of etching in. How long is the coating covered for? +
Coverage is registered against the vehicle and starts at five years, with our own workmanship guarantee sitting behind the install itself. Full registration favors newer cars still wearing original factory paint, so we check what yours qualifies for before anything is booked, and we tell you plainly where it lands if the paint has already been resprayed.
Can you coat the car at the house, inside the gates? +

Window tint and detailing are the two things we do bring inside the gates, at a distance-based premium quoted before we put anything on the calendar.
